Who We Are | Living Word Community Church Basildon

A very warm welcome to Living Word Community Church. We are so glad you are here.

We are a community of Christians committed to following Jesus with all the strength He gives us. We meet in our building on Honeypot Lane in Basildon, Essex, every Sunday from 11am, and we believe that Jesus came to give life, hope, and peace -- and we have seen Him do exactly that in the lives of people right here in our community.

We are multi-cultural, multi-generational, and genuinely welcoming. It does not matter where you are coming from or what your story is -- there is room for you in this family.

What We Believe

We are a non-denominational, evangelical, Holy Spirit-filled church. Here are the things that are most important to us:

  • The Bible is the living Word of God and our ultimate authority for life and faith
  • Jesus Christ is Lord -- fully God, fully human -- and His death and resurrection is the centre of everything
  • The Holy Spirit is active and present today, working in and through God's people
  • Every person matters to God, and every person is welcome in His family
  • The church is called to love one another, serve the community, and make Jesus known
  • Prayer is not optional -- it is the lifeblood of everything we do

Our Vision

Our vision, plain and simple, is to introduce every person in Basildon to Jesus. We want to be a church that is genuinely good news for our town -- in word, in action, and in the quality of our community life.

Our Leadership

LWCC is led by four elders who serve the church together, with apostolic oversight from Dave Prince of Connect Fellowship of Churches.

Jonathan and Beula are from the same town in India and have been married for 17 years. They have two sons, Joshua and Aaron. Jonathan is a Chief Architect at Lloyds Bank and is passionate about nurturing healthy youth and next-generation faith.

Martin Crook

Brian Foster

Brian and Chrissie were married in 2005. Brian previously worked as a Chartered Engineer and has been a Christian for over sixty years. Together, they are passionate about spreading the name of Jesus in Basildon, and both hold an MA in Missional Leadership.
